2000 Mitsubishi Galant Radiator cap spewing and the car is

I have a 2000 Mitsubishi Galant with 75k miiles and the radiator cap is spraying coolant from the radiator. The car is also overheating at low speed but when cruising at higher speed the water temp drops. Would that be caused by the thermostat being stuck closed or the water pump failing?

I have an 01 gallant with 22000miles on it and radiator troubles are common. First of all your car mightn not be over heating every time your dash gauge says so. But Im sure you need a new radiator cap and have your coolent system pressure checked.
