1996 Mitsubishi Galant vibration

When I reach about 45 mph, my car starts to vibrate very badly. As I press on the accelerator the problem seems to get worse. I can get up to about 75 mph and as soon as I let off the pedal the car coasts real smooth. I was told I could possibly have some bad struts? My tires are in good shape and I don't think they are the problem.

Hi there,

Start of by having the tyres check for out of round, have a balance done and get the steering & suspension inspected.

Rev your engine up to about 3,000 rpm while in park or neutral and see if vibration is still there. If no vibration, tires/wheels might be the problem. If vibration is present when not moving, check your harmonic balancer on the crank pulley. They are known to have fallen off sometimes.
