1994 Mitsubishi Galant Will Not Shift From Park

My brother Has a Mitsubishi Galant and they said they where dirving down the road and the trans, STOPS pulling and the engine just revs. It will not go into revers, drive, n, d1, or d2. The fluid level is full. Do you think you can help?

Hi dasniper12585,

If the trans cannot move out of park, check for a blown brake fuse or switch. If the brake lights are workinig, the interlock system is malfunctioning.

If the trans can be shifted into the gears but cannot move, then most probably the torque converter or the trans assy is faulty.
