My 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse V6 engine, failed to start. It had no noticeable problems leading up to the complete break down. I did notice smoke coming up from the hood when i was stopped at a stoplight a couple times.
The problem: When you turn the key it does nothing but make a clicking sound, kind of as if the battery is dead.
We charged the battery to see if it was the alternator but it made no difference.
