1996 Mitsubishi Eclipse Stalling

I recently purchased a 96 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS w/97k miles. When I start the car it will idle very rough for 2-3 seconds then shut off. It will continue to do this unless I give it gas and keep the rpms around 1k for a few seconds. After this happens though, if I pull up to a stop sign, light, or some other reason have to slow down shortly after starting, it will stall again. Once out driving for a few mintues though, it's fine. Any advice?

What liter engine do you have?

I just ran into a similiar mitsuibishi with this symptom.

The one we worked on was a 1.5, turned out to be a map sensor.

Start off by checking the codes in the computer to get some direction to go in.
