When I got my oil changed today the mechanic came and showed me that I have a transmission fluid leak. He says it is an "unservicable item" and they cant' fix it, I have to take it to a dealer. Problem is, the nearest mini dealer is 180 miles away. He didn't know exactly where the leak was coming from or how much fluid I had left, but the bottom of my car was covered in brown fluid. Is this something simple that any mechanic can fix relatively inexpensively, or am I going to have to figure out how to drive it 180 to the dealer? Any ideas would be appreciated.
