2007 Mini Cooper Pad Replacement
Brakes problem
2007 Mini Cooper 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 54000 miles
While having my Mini Serviced I wa stold brake pads and rotors were wearing thin. When I questioned the rotors, I was told by the service tec that both pads and rotors had to be replaced. they said rotors were to soft to be machined.
Is this true? A brake job at the dealer is $610.00.

If the rotors get too worn then yes, they will NOT be able to be "turned" or machined because it would not leave enough thickness for sufficient braking.
