Fuel grade selection

Engine Performance problem
2003 Mini Cooper 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 73000 miles

I have been told and read in the owner's manual that I must use premium gasoline in my Mini. Is that true or can I use regular grade?

A while back I heard the "Car Guys" tell one of their callers that it doesn't matter what grade is used in any of the newer cars. Whaddaya think?

Thanks!

hello .. thanks for the donation .. much appreciated.

Any grade of fuel is OK to run this vehicle, dropping to a lower grade is OK .. going from a low to a high can sometimes throw the vehicle sensors out of sync and cause problems !

Hope this helps
