I am changing the timing belt on my 99 tracer and do not know where the timing marks are. The car is 2.0 l engine with single overhead cam. If you could please help me learn how to change the belt or at least find the timing marks. Thank you.

Hi Thersa,

Below is the diiagram for the timing marks. Just remamber that the Number 1 Cylinder has to be at Top Dead Center on the Compression Stroke.

Do you need special equippment to torque a bolt? In order to change the timing belt I have to torque my crankshaft to 85 lbs. Thanks for any help.

You need a torque wrench. Something like this.

Any auto parts store will have it. If you never use one before, ask them to show you how. That particular one is available at CSK/O'Reilly part number 644046 retails for $50.
