my car was running for about 20 mins while we put air in the tire then we went to move it and when we put it in reverse it died. What could that be from?

Did the check engine light come on? Has it done it since?

The check engine light has a mind of its own. It will be on one minute then i'll keep driving and it turns off and I wont even do anything to it.

If the light has been on, there is a chance the computer stored a code. Take the car to a nationally recognized parts store and have them scan the computer. Most will do it for free, so there is no money out of pocket. If there is a code stored, it will help identify where the problem is coming from.

Have that done and let me know what you find.
