1992 Mercury Station Wagon starts fine, then won't start th
Engine Performance problem
1992 Mercury Station Wagon 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 187000 miles
only reciently bought this car and this only just started happening, I stopped for a fill up and when I went to start the car nothing happened. The lights were bright and all accessories worked. We cleaned the battery terminals and it started again. 2 days later won't start for several hours that starts again. I noticed that the ignition switch turns without a key in it, could that be where the problem is or is it something else?

Hi Richburris, Welcome to 2carpros and TY for the donation
Sounds like the problem is with the ignition switch internal contacts are out of alignment
