2001 Mercury Sable Oil in the coolant reservoir

2001 Mercury Sable

Hi.
As I was driving yesterday, my car started sputtering. When I pulled over, I checked the oil and it was low. When I looked at the coolant container, I noticed oil in it. ALOT. What is the damage and how much is it going to cost me?

Get it block and pressure tested to find out where its leaking could be the headgasket, cracked head or block

Thank you. I take it either way it be a gasket, head it's going to be expensive. Am I correct?

Thanks again. I don't mean to sound stupid, but I'm just unsure as to where to take it to get it done. If it is a problem with the whole block/head thing, then I'm not able to drive the car. I have lived in Austin Texas for only a couple of years and a little wary of taking it to a mechanic shop that's trustworthy. Alot of them see a female and automatically think they can take advantage of somebody.
