1998 Mercury Sable

I have a 1998 Mercury Sable (91,000 miles) (4 dr. Automatic. I do not know the size of the engine). The car has not been driven for approximately 6 months. I recently recharged the battery and started the car, however, the two [motor?] Fans do not appear to be turning. What would cause this problem?

If you mean the cooling fans, 1 is a radiator fan the other comes on when the A/C is turned on. If neither one works you may need to check the temp sending unit.
