Models air does not come out of the vent

2003 Other Mercury Models V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 98000 miles
Could you tell me what could be the problem:
I can get air out of the lower vent and on top of the dashboard, but no air comes out of the vents on the front panel.
The Vehicle is a Mercury Maurauder, 2003.
