1999 Mercury Mystique

Repplaced the IAC and the egr valve, now there is a loud humming noise coming from the air box. I have narrowed it down to the 3/4 inch rubber tube that gos from the air intake tube befor the throttle body to where it gos to the steel tube between the iac and the egr on the intake
if you pull this hose off whille the engine is running the noise disappears and it shuts down if you pull it more than a 1/4 inch from it. It also sound like all the vacuum is at that tube and not the throttle body
Is there a possibility that the intake is leaking ?
