1996 Mercury Mystique brake lights don't work when stepping

I step on the brakes and brake light dont come on. Check bulbs, fuses and Switch. I put in all new fuses and a new switch and bulbs are in working order. But the brake lights still won't work when I use the brakes. I can't drive the car because I will get a ticket. The brake light in the rear window works fine. What could be wrong?

Sounds like the turn signal switch may need replacement.

You can try to lube it up with wd40 and work it around but chances are you will need another

get one from a junk yard.
