Winshield motor replacement---1996 Mercury Grand Marquis
The windshield motor needs to be replaced on my 1996 Mercury Grand Marquis.
I purchased a Haynes Repair Manual, went to page12-11 and followed the instructions.
Everything went well, until I got to the part that told me to.....#5. Unplug the electrical connector and lift the wiper motor from the housing.
The motor has a plate attached to it that would not come out of the opening into the housing.
What is the correct proceedure to take the windshield motor out of the housing? I do not want to tear into the housing and take it apart until I know if this is the correct way to proceed.
Thanks!
David

sometimes you need to re position the motor to remove it. turn swivel or whatever you can and see if it can make it. hope this helps
