I am getting an interment miss (hitching) between 50 to 55 mph at a steady speed. I took my car in and passed emissions test, no codes. I had car looked at by tech who was very honest and up front me told that high rpm miss are hard to find . What we replaced was the fuel filter per my request as required by maintenance manual. He also found no codes when he checked.

Other then that the car has nice idle, good pick up and acceleration.

Well if the plugs and wires are good and the fuel pressure is good. Try cleaning out the throttle plate area. On Fords all you need is a clean damp rag! Don't use any harsh cleaners. Ford coats the throttle with teflon! If that dosent do it clean the MAF sesor with a Q-tip soaked in alcohol.

I bought the cleaners CRC throttle and massflow cleaner. It's been awhile, I use to clean my throttle body on 87 mustang 5 L.
My fuel pressure is good the tech checked before he changed the fuel filter.

Do I have wires on 2001, I don't see them, all I see is the coil. I tell you the ignition system sure changed since 1987.

If you found a coil. Fords use coil over. Each cylinder has it's own coil.

I finally got to it today.

The miss is there I cleaned mass air senor and thortel plate I still have the miss. If it's my plugs and wires are bad how can they be checked if I am not getting any codes.

I know you can take the plugs out a look at them and wires back in the old days you run om meter through them.

How would the dealers check them today.
