2000 Mercury Marquis cylinder head temp sensor

2000 Mercury Marquis V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 59000 miles

trouble code p1285 cylinder head temp sensor. ran test on sensor and found that it was bad. replaced sensor and still have same problem. car dosent run hot car runs at 150 degrees and cylinder head temp sensor reads 248 degrees ohmed wires to ecm and checked ok. what else could it be do we need to have the ecm flashed.

if engine is running at 150 degrees then thermostat is bad. 150 is too cool , should be around 190 or so. remove and test thermostat.
