Engine Performance problem
1981 Mercury Lynx 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 16000 miles
What is the reason behind this matter...I had my fuel filter replaced, my battery is new, and my carburator is replaced but it was a smaller one and the vaccuum hose didn't have an outlet to it..

where does the vacuum hose go? that is probably why you are having the problem. Also these engines used to have a decel valve below the carb that leaked vacuum out the diaphragm. youonly need to replace teh diaphragm to fix it. but the vacuuum line that is disconnected may go to the distributor and need reconnecting.
