2001 Mercedes Benz SLK320 alarm goes off all the time

Recently my car alarm would go off about 5 minutes after I would lock the car. I have been leaving my car unlocked the last few days to try and not have the alarm go off whenever I park it. I parked the car in my garage this evening...I did not lock the doors, and my alarm went off. When I went out to the garage I found the car doors locked on their own. I unlocked them and watched....in about 5 minutes, the car automatically locked the doors and then in about 5 minutes...the car alarm would go off. I disconnected the car battery so myself and the neighbors could sleep tonight...But what is going on?
