Abs and bas esp warning lights on

2001 Mercedes Benz SLK320 V8 Front Wheel Drive Manual 40000 miles
ABS , BAS ESP and cruse controle will not function.
EOBD code reader produces DTC P0500 fault code definition is " Vehicle speed sensor A Malfunction".
Please can you confirm:
a. is the fault the ABS speed sensor.
b. if so how can I identify which one it is (rear L/R front L/R) that may be faulty.
c. where is the electronics box situated that receives sensor outputs from the ABS sensors?
I would be grateful for any advice on this problem.
