I was doing some research on a problem I'm having with my car and notice that some one having close to the same problem had ask you a question concerning their trunk not working using the interior trunk button or key button. Would this also cause the stainless steel handle to not retract. I'm having the same exact problem and my handle does not retract back in. Thanks
Do you
have the same problem?

Hello -

I think what you are talking about is discussed in a TSB about your vehicle. I have attached that below if I understand you correctly.

SERVICE CAMPAIGN 2005060009 - CHECK TRUNK LID LOCK AND REPLACE IF NECESSARY
SERVICE CAMPAIGN BULLETIN
Reference Number(s): 2005060009, Date of Issue: July 26, 2005
MERCEDES-BENZ: MODEL 220, MODEL YEAR 2003
GROUP: 00 OF SERVICE INFORMATION BINDER
GROUP: I OF INFORMATION - PARTS & ACCESSORIES BINDER
Related Ref Number(s): 2005060009
ARTICLE BEGINNING
SUBJECT
MODEL 220, MODEL YEAR 2003
CHECK TRUNK LID LOCK AND REPLACE IF NECESSARY
This Service Campaign has been initiated because DCAG has determined that on the affected vehicles (see VIN range below) the button opening the trunk lid supplies a resistance value not defined for the pneumatic control unit (PSE). This can result in the interior bus (CAN-B) being activated continuously resulting in an increased battery drain. The resistance values of the trunk lid lock will be checked and replaced if necessary during this Service Campaign.
Please review the Effective Serial Number chart located below and if necessary repair the subject vehicles during the vehicle's next service.
Prior to performing this Service Campaign:
"Â Please check VMI to insure the vehicle is involved and to determine if the vehicle has been previously repaired.
"Â Please review the entire Service Campaign bulletin.
Approximately 288 vehicles are affected.
