2004 Other Mercedes Benz Models radiator and transmission
We are experiencing a slight hesitation. The mechanic said the radiator has a small leak and antifreeze is leaking into the transmission. Can this happen? How serious is the problem? The mechanic is replacing the radiator. Will this solve the problem? Is there a chance the transmission is damaged?
They will drain the transmission and replace the fluid, in addition to replacing the radiator,

Yes this absolutely can happen and the steps your mechanic is suggesting are the correct ways to remedy this problem.
