2000 Mercedes Benz ML430 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 103000 miles

the car will not start at times when cranking. it will always turn or make the cranking sound, but at times it will go days without catching and starting. then it will start at other times. i took it to the mercedes dealer and my personal garage and they could not determine the problem.

please help
