1999 Mercedes Benz ML430 Replace Idler Pulley

1999 Mercedes Benz ML430 V8 All Wheel Drive Automatic 145000 miles
On my '99 MB ML430 the Multi Rib Belt (serpentine) broke up and the Idler Pulley is broken too. Is it neccesary removing the viscous fan or there is and easy way to do it? If the fan have to be removed, can I get instructions and tools requiered? If there is another way to replace Idler pulley without removing the viscous fan, please describe how it's done.
