My battery was dying so we had a local mechanic look at it and they said the alternator was going bad. So we replaced the alternator. However that didn't fix the problem. So we replaced the battery. The brand new battery is getting drained now. What else could it be?

You could be afflicted with "Phantom Drain"
Numerous things can caues a drain think about all the electrical stuff is on the car. So here is what you do have the Tech. Do a drain test. This is done by removing a batt cable putting DVOM in series on the amp. Scale.A normal drain should be.3 to.5amps. If it reads higher as I suspect it will. Then to narrow the search start pulling fuses when it drops you have forund the circuit where the drain is located.
Hope this helps
