1999 Mercedes Benz C280 Wierd reading, help

Dear expert,
I have a 1999 Mercedes Benz C280, once I turn the car on it reads -8400 with a bolt driver image next to it in the place where it should show the mileage. 30-40 seconds after it is on, it disappears and shows the normal mileage again. What does that mean?

Hi there,

not 100% sure on this one, but I feel it is telling you that you are over due for a service or the service interval light was not re set at last service, I would check this with your dealer.
