1999 Mercedes Benz 320e making stereo and CD changer work

1999 Mercedes Benz 320e 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic
I just purchased this car and the stereo does not work. I have the radio code card, but don't know what to do. plus I need to pull the radio and make sure the CD changer is plugged in to the back. The person I purchased it from said the radeo worked but when she tried to play a CD it kept saying no changer attatched. Can you advise?
