1991 Mercedes Benz 300se 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive

Yes Sir,
I have a 1991 300se with over 200,000 miles. The car has been diagnoised a blown head gasget. The mechanic says it's not worth fixing because of the expense therefore a new engine is possibly needed. I love the 140 chassis syle, but because of the economic situation, I am asking you what shall I do
