Oil loss

1989 Mercedes Benz 300sd 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 222000 miles
There is a oil loss, the indicator light comes on as well the indicator light for overheating. However, there is no oil on the ground. Where is the oil going? Thank you.

Make sure the oil isn't getting into the coolant. Also, how often do you have to have to add?
