1980 Mercedes Benz 300sd Oil coming through valve cover tub
Engine Mechanical problem
1980 Mercedes Benz 300sd 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 155000 miles
This is actually a 300D, not an sd (I think).I guess the subject about sums it up. What would cause oil to come up through valve cover tube and how do we fix it?

Hi ckumelos,
Thank you for the donation.
When engine blowby pressure is high, oil would be pushed out together with the ventilation gases.
The main cause would be worn piston rings and a clogged PCV.
To rectify the problem an engine rebuilt is required.
