1996 Mercedes Benz 300e Repair Question

1996 Mercedes Benz 300e Car Stalls Suddenly/Won't Start
Engine Mechanical problem
1996 Mercedes Benz 300e 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 145000 miles
My MB E300 Diesel sometimes stalls for no apparent reason. It doesn't matter if I am idling or cruising at 65 mph. It suddenly stalls.
This is a problem.
What makes it worse is that it won't then start. I try to restart the car and the red and green lights start flashing during the glow plug heating phase before actually cranking the engine. Once those red and green lights start flashing the car will not start.
I have cleaned the gas, that didn't work
I replaced the fuel filter, that didn't work but it happened less often when I did this.
What is wrong and why does the ETS message sometimes show on the display when this occurs.

Hi?
This is a common problem with this model of car when usually they are old. One of my client had the same problem and we replaced clutch and it worked very well after that, you can try this and find if it works.
