Electrical problem
1975 Mercedes Benz 300d Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I have taken my car to Les Schwab and they recharged the battery. They said that the alternator had very low voltage coming from it. My dad said that it could be the voltage regulator. Or maybe the belt or the brushes. I just really don't know what I am doing and I have no money and no time. What is the likelihood that it is not my alternator? What do you suggest I do?

I am a 21 year old female college student without a job and living hundreds of miles from my partents. I have very few resources at my disposal and pretty much zero dollars. How do I fix my car so I can get back to college in a week in Boise, ID?

The voltage regulator is built into the alternator so it sounds like you need to replace the alternator, where are you located? I will be passing through Boise Idaho I way to Seattle on October 17, I could stop for a few moments and check out your car if you have not resolve the problem, and I do have a used alternator if you need one.
