1980 Mercedes Benz 300cd Repair Question

1980 Mercedes Benz 300cd Engine will not start
Electrical problem
1980 Mercedes Benz 300cd 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 277309 miles
First of all the engine is a 5 cylinder diesel. The engine will turn over but will not start. The preglow indicator light comes on but does not go off to signal me to start the engine.
Your guidance would be appreciated, thanks.

It sounds like you got a low battery charge or replace it and try it again.
