1988 Mercedes Benz 190e Transmission Modulator
Transmission problem
1988 Mercedes Benz 190e 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 165000 miles
I have a 1988 Mercedes 190E with 165,000 miles and car runs good except the transmission, I had a question last week for tranny fluid level, and that did not fix the problem.I put it in drive and go and ot shifts good into 2nd gear but when it goes faster and is suppose to shirt again it does not... the rpm's goes up till you remove your foot off throttle, and sometimes rpm's stay high unless you put it into neutral. I was told that that sounded like a tranmission modulator problem, and I have never changed it since I had the car,, is there a way to troubleshoot the modulator...
Thanks...Clark
