1987 Mercedes Benz 190e Becker Radio security lock out

1987 Mercedes Benz 190e 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 127000 miles
My Mother's 1987 190E has 4 dashes displayed on the radio. Battery had failed ect. Is this a anti theft lock out if so how do I go about reseting?
