1991 Mazda B2200 No Ignition

1991 Mazda B2200, carburetor engine, auto trans, 123,000 miles. After the truck has sat for a while, most of the time it will start right up, and run an hour or more be for loosing ignition. The next time, like this morning, it only ran for 2 or 3 minutes idling and then just stopped running. No fire to the plugs. I check it with a timing light, no spark to any of the 4 plugs. I replaced the ignition coil just to be sure it was OK. Didn't change a thing. Do you think it could be the ignition module in the distributor? Can it be intermittent like that? Thanks jonnielazy

change the rotor button cap wires plugs pick-up coil ignition module, but first take the cap off and jist crank the truck if the rotor buttom aint mocin then she aint hittin the points causing no spark, replace to fix problem, if she is moving then replace what i said, normally you can narrow it down to one thing but i just ain there to see it
