1993 DOHC. Read the codes and came up with #3 distributor g-signal. I have already change spark plugs, wires and distributor rotor, and cap but still get code. Can someone help me at what to look at and what is a g-signal? Thanks, wagsjl

Can someone please help me with this?
I have tried to find out from about everyone including dealers what a distributor g-signal is, the car is a 1993 DOHC with a 1.8 engine and we have replaced the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor and still getting the check engine light with this code.

Please help.

I thing g- signal is a rpm or cam signal from distributor to the ECM. Either an input or acknowledgement signal to the computer.

Good evening,

The ECM is not seeing a signal from the distributor for engine RPM. When this happens, the ECM will not allow spark or fuel.

You need a new distributor.

What usually happens is oil gets inside the distributor and the parts inside short out.
