93 Mazda Protege - Rough Idle under Load

When I'm at a red light with my foot on the brake, the idle is rough and the car vibrates. If I shift into neutral the vibration goes away. The car runs very well otherwise. The motor/transmission mounts have been replaced. I could not find any obvious cracks in vacuum lines but it doesn't mean that they don't exist. Any ideas on where to begin to narrow down what might be causing my problem?

Thanks!

Have you figured out what is making it run ruff when stopped. I have a 1990 protege and it does the same thing.

Not yet. I need to take it to a shop and have them remove and clean the EGR valve. I got a manual and tried to do it myself but between the location of it and the fact that it didn't match the manual I couldn't do it.
