I have a 2008 Mazdaspeed 3 I am hearing a clicking sound coming from the front of the car. I dont think its the cv joint because the car only clicks when its cold or has been sitting for a while and it only does it when I pull forward or go in reverse. And it will only do it for about 2sec and then it stops. It does not make the clicking while driving or turning, As soon as I take off it stops and even if I stop the car again down the block after I take off it wont make the clicking sound again until the car is parked and gets cold or has been sitting for a while. Also the cars clicking sounds nothing like a cv joint sound.

Can you tell if it is coming from the wheels or engine? When it is there, does it pick up speed with the car?

It sounds like its coming from the driver side in the front. And when I took the car to the dealer they told me it could be a axle blot. But if it was that wouldn't it make the sound as I drive. The car does not make the clicking sound as I drive, Only when its cold and it only does it when I take off or go in reverse when its cold. Let say I drive the car down the block and stop, it wont make the sound again until the car gets parked or has been sitting for a while. I was wondering if it could be the clutch cable if the car has one.

Should still be under warranty. Take it to Mazda and have them look at it. Axles usually make noise on turns, especially an 08, shouldnt have that kind of problem
