Valve clearance
Love my 94 mazda mx3! It's the 16 valve, 1.6L 4 cylinder DOHC. Has 157K miles (not all mine) -I've only had it about a year....but I threw the timing belt! I really thought it was the distributor - but it wasn't.
Could someone PLEASE tell me the clearance? Does it have zero tolerance or is it going to be well again once I get a belt? I can't find it in the Chilton's and I can't find a Haynes.

nothing to worry about.....it is NOT a zero-clearance motor. Things should be fine.

You were right - not 0 clearance and the baby is all better. However, it also messed up distributor and alternator. It's running! I had a super mechanic that came out of retirement just for the challenge.
