1992 Mazda MX5 Repair Question

Placed insert in #2 plug well
Engine Mechanical problem
1992 Mazda MX5 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 155,00 miles
went well. cost 32.00. instructions called for hi-temp RTV on outside of insert. said not to run engine until RTV has "set". full cure time is 24 hrs. is that what these folks are talking about or are they referring to a shorter period? what is your opinion on this?
