Electrical problem
2002 Mazda MPV Automatic

35,000 miles. 6 mos ago, driver side sliding door stopped working. Mazda said they would have to replace door ($1200)! Two mos ago, the 'door open' alarm went off constantly 24/7 even if the engine was off. I stopped it by turning off the 'auto' button for the door, so now the right door has to be opened manually also. Five days ago, the engine problem icon went on and is still there. I am thinking that it is telling me that there is some type of electrical problem based on the door problems. Do you think that I should gamble on this and not take it in to the shop? Thank you!

I think the sign on the dash is check engine light

need to have the computer scan for codes

computer detected a trouble and store codes to indicate trouble area

codes will help to pin point what happened or happening

most local part store have that service for free

once you have the code you can post back for more help

at least you need to have it scanned
