2001 Mazda MPV Alternator Replacement Cost

Hello all,
Do anyone of you know how long does it take to replace the alternator on the 2001 MPV?
My neighbour is a mechanic and he told me it's about 1 to 1.5 hour to do it and I brought by MPV to a "CAA CarCare" place and they charged me for 3 hours, am I being rip-off?

Hello to change alternator its a big job better to take to shop coz I try to change my at my friend shop he get all equipment I donot do the work on cars I work on equipment its take me 3 hr to do the job its better to take to shop coz u have to pull out axel undo the bolt on crosss thats big job I be never say to some body to do by self specialy at home no way
