Computer problem
1994 Mazda MPV 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Engion check light wont go off.
I put in another ecu unit as told to do.
the car runs better but still runs a lot of full. Bad full smell. And the light is still on. I have a Actron cp9125 pocket scan but cant find a n adaptor for it. A obdII to obd I. The shop that told me to get a new ecu saw the light still on said I need a new ecu.
how can I check this out and where can I get an adaptor.

First of your obd 2 scanner will not work on that mazda as it is an asian obd 1 system. So you would need a different scanner one that is obd1 and asian compatible. Now the light is on because of mileage. You have to pull the dash or instrument cluster out to reset the light. Once you have the cluster out you will find a philips screw on the back of the dash in about the location of the light. Next to the screw is a hole. Remove the screw and put it in the other hole next to it, thats it done, it is now reset for another 60 or 80 thousand can't remember which. Any thing else let me know.
