I just had a new radiator installed, per my mechanics findings. On the way home the gauge registered mid way between middle and hot. When I got home I checked the radiator, I could remove the cap no gushing of coolant, I did however had to add some coolant to the radiator and the reserve compartment. My mechanic also installed a new thermastat. Is this a common occurance regarding a new radiator? Maybe a breaking in period? I haven't driven it since adding coolant, but have let it run in the driveway, but it did not register hot?
Help, at wits in.
thanks

H there,

It is always a good idea to replace the thermostat with a new radiator, As for the other issue, you may have had n air lock in the cooling system and it has now bleed out, so I would just keep an eye on the temp & the coolant level for the time being, just to make sure there is no other underling issue.
