1985 Mazda GLC short in tail & brake light system

1985 Mazda GLC 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 165000 miles
my fuse keeps poping instantly as soon as I turn the light switch on. What are the correct bulbs needed and how do I trace the wiring to find the problem. Is it a short in the system or something else?
