2001 Mazda b2200 Failed smog check
Engine Performance problem
2001 Mazda b2200 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 11400 miles
I have a Mazda B2300 truck.Last year I paid $734 to pass my smog check in California. The reason they gave was a faulty sending unit INSIDE the gas tank. After a few months the "check engine" light came on. When I had it checked (informally) by a diagnostics check, I was told that the sending unit was registering as faulty.
I've heard since then that Mazda's sending units have an on going problem. I'm now due for another smog check and I'm afraid I'll be robbed by the California Smog Check for another $700 dollars. What can I do to find and fix this chronic problem more economically?
