1989 Mazda b2200 Battery being drained and do not know why

1989 Mazda b2200 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 240600 miles
My battery is being drained. I disconnected the battery after startup to see if it was a faulty alternator. Engine kept running. Just bought a new battery and problem still occurs.
